Ask the question!

President Obama’s message to our children also applies to adults!  Too many times we feel like we have to always have the right answer, that we don’t want to show that we don’t know something, so we “fake it until we make it.”

In President Obama’s address on education he said, “Don’t be afraid to ask questions.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.  I do that every day.  Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of strength.  It shows you have the courage to admit when you don’t know something, and to learn something new.”

The only dumb question you can ask is the one you don’t ask.  If you lack information, you will make a poor decision.  If you know information you may direct someone to do something that could cause them to be injured.  Asking a question doesn’t tell people you don’t know anything, it tells them you want to learn, to grow.
